A Letter From Our Lower School Principal
Welcome to the Nuasin Next Generation Family! When we say family, we mean it. Our school family is here to support, inspire, and be a dependable partner for all scholars and families in the Highbridge community. Our three pillars are rigor, self-advocacy, and community.
We have been building a strong community for over 10 years. When scholars or families walk in the door, they are seen as members of the family, not customers. Our community is driven by a commitment to each and every scholar to succeed not only in academics, but also all the skills needed to truly be ready for the next generation.
Through restorative practices, we proactively build our community in a nurturing and accountable manner, which in turn gives space for highly rigorous and engaging instruction. Our goal is for all of our scholars to be able to self-advocate and communicate their unique experiences to the outside world. I am proud of the job I have, to empower our scholars to present their greatness to the world!

We understand our K-2 scholars.
Our K-2 program is literacy-forward, with scholars immersed in texts at and above level from the time they walk in the door. Our literacy-rich environments and strong literacy instruction ensures our scholars leave the primary grades reading at or above level. Our scholars also lay a foundation in number sense and reasoning that is built upon through conceptual mathematics for years to come.
We understand our 3-4 scholars.
Nuasin Next Generation is a place where scholars are challenged and enriched every day. Our scholars in 3rd and 4th grade begin to read to learn and engage in challenging content across domains. Our program is highly engaging, building upon the natural curiosity of scholars at this age level and builds upon the primary grades as we work to ensure 100% of our scholars are at or above grade level.
We understand our 5-8 scholars
Grades 5-8 are our school’s middle school. When scholars get their “black shirt” they know they are getting closer to high school and college readiness. Our program pushes scholars with culturally relevant texts that go into different topics at a great depth and we build the foundations of algebra so that our 8th graders are able to take high school level courses. Our middle school electives program allows for our scholars to engage with one another on areas of interest and expertise.
