We are reaching out to communicate important information regarding a recent cybersecurity breach involving PowerSchool, a 3rd party provider that we along with a large number of other schools utilize to manage our Scholar Information. We understand that this cybersecurity breach is concerning and we are urgently working with PowerSchool to assure the security of your personal information and assure you that you receive the support and resources to help safeguard your personal information.
What Happened?
On December 28, 2024, PowerSchool identified unauthorized access to certain personal information through one of its customer support portals, PowerSource. As soon as the issue was discovered, PowerSchool took immediate action to investigate and secure its systems.
What Information Was Involved?
The information affected varied by individual and may have included personally identifiable information. However, at this time, there is no evidence that the named individual’s Social Security Number or medical alert information was accessed as Nuasin does not input this type of information into Powerschool.
How Is PowerSchool Responding?
To provide peace of mind, PowerSchool is offering two years of complimentary identity protection services to students and educators. For adult students and educators, this also includes two years of credit monitoring services. While there is currently no indication that any misuse of information has occurred, these services are being offered as an added layer of security.

Identity Protection Services Include:
- Social Security Number Trace – Alerts you if new names, aliases, or addresses are associated with your Social Security Number.
- Internet Surveillance – Scans for unauthorized use of your personal information.
- Identity Restoration – Experts available to assist in case of fraud.
- $1 Million Identity Theft Insurance – Provides coverage for certain costs and unauthorized transactions.
What Steps Has PowerSchool Taken?
PowerSchool acted quickly by implementing cybersecurity protocols, working with third-party security experts, and conducting a full investigation. At this time, there is no indication that any identity theft has resulted from this incident.
What Can You Do?
While there is no confirmed misuse of information, we encourage you to stay vigilant by monitoring your accounts for any unusual activity. Please remember that PowerSchool will never contact you by phone or email to request personal information.
